The New Historic Festival at Brands Hatch GP circuit: I still need a few Concours "Classic" BMW cars for a special stand. Also all other BMW's will be on a special stand with Prime viewing. Email me if you want to be considered for the Concours stand.
I am in discussions with Brands Hatch about a BMW Car Club stand at what promises to be a huge event, recreating the excitment of the old Coys weekend that used to be at Silverstone for those lucky enough to remember. More soon.
Brands Hatch’s owners MotorSport Vision, together with leading European Historic series promoters, The Masters Racing Series Limited, announced today that they will be joining forces to run a new historic motor sport festival on the iconic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, on the second May Bank Holiday weekend of 2007, the 27/28th May. Masters will be working with MSV, and have formed an association with Motor Sport magazine to promote the event. The 2007 event will be the first in a planned series of MSV/Masters race meetings on the famed GP circuit.
Featured events will include races on both the Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday for 1970’s Grand Prix cars, evoking great memories of the British Grand Prix and Race of the Champions of that era. Another star turn will be the Le Mans-style World Sportscar Masters race, which will see the early 70’s monsters from Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Lola return to the scene of the famous BOAC endurance races of the period. With the elegance and power of the GT cars from the Gentleman Drivers series, plus the early 1960’s Sports Racing Masters in which GT40’s and Lola T70 Spiders battle with nimble Lotus 23’s and Elvas; and with at least two races for pre-66 saloons, Masters will be putting on a great show of highly colourful, competitive and dramatic historic race action.
